MARTI: the MesoAmerican Reef Tourism Initiative
The MesoAmerican Reef Tourism Initiative, better known as MARTI, is a collaborative initiative working to ensure that the breathtaking natural resources that draw millions of tourists to the MesoAmerican Reef Region each year are maintained and enhanced for the benefit of current and future generations.
Our MesoAmerican Reef
Known as the largest reef in the northern hemisphere, the MesoAmerican Barrier Reef stretches along the coast of Mexico (Yucatan Peninsula), Belize, Guatemala and Honduras over a distance of about one thousand kilometers.

MARTI partners focus on creating alternatives for participation, that allow the rational use of natural resources and sustainable practices in tourism development and operations at all scales in the MesoAmerican Reef region, ensuring economic prosperity and environmental development of the region.
